The best choice for riders who enjoy covering long distances on a motorcycle with classic Italian style.
For 2022, there are three new color options, and we find the anodized headlight that has already made the EsseEsse9 an instant classic.
The Energica EsseEsse9 shares the technology and refinement of the EGO and EVA Ribelle but is designed for a more casual riding style, putting aside the hyper-performance of the other two models.
The classic seat and relaxed riding position make the EsseEsse9 ideal for riding in company and are the preferred choice for electric travelers. Of course, some choose the EsseEsse9 simply for its breathtaking beauty. After all, who can blame them?
Like all our motorcycles, the EsseEsse9 also has an exclusive feature: all three charging options – Slow charging Modes 2 or 3 and Fast charging Mode DC 4, come as standard! In the EsseEsse9+ version, this means the widest range of any electric motorcycle: 420 km in the city, 246 km combined city and highway range, and 198 km for extra-urban riding. For even greater acceleration, choose the RS version.

Energica unveils the new EMCE motor and inverter, a significant leap forward in electric motorcycle propulsion.
EMCE is a completely new HSM motor, co-engineered exclusively by Energica and Mavel. The motor and inverter now share a liquid cooling system, resulting in a simpler and more efficient design with reduced dimensions and improved thermal efficiency. Motorcyclists will appreciate its incredible advantages: lighter with a lower center of gravity for greater agility, higher peak performance, extended range, especially at higher speeds, and significantly reduced maintenance intervals.
TYPE | HSM (Hybrid Synchronous Motor) Three-phase liquid-cooled – 300 V – 12,000 rpm with adaptive control inverter |
ADAPTIVE CONTROL | Since the motor and inverter are developed in tandem, the inverter can provide adaptive control. This means it can select the right control parameters as the required performance changes: the torque demanded by the vehicle, the motor's speed, the system's operating mode, temperature, and other factors identifying the operating state of the power unit. Adaptive control ensures that the inverter can always operate the system as efficiently as possible, while extending the system's operational limits. |
WEIGHT | Overall, the motor and inverter are 10 kg lighter than the previous powertrain, despite providing better thermal efficiency and more power, reducing EsseEsse9+'s weight to 260 kg. The motorcycle's handling is significantly improved due to the reduced dimensions of the EMCE motor, resulting in lower inertia. |
POWER | The continuous power output of the motor remains the same, at 109 hp / 80 kW. The higher acceleration provided by the RS version ensures that, on the road, you get the same performance you could expect from any other electric motorcycle brand. |
RANGE | Reduced weight improves the range at any speed, but the real advantage is the increased range at higher highway speeds. This is possible due to the greater thermal efficiency of the new EMCE motor, which reduces temperatures during operation. The range increases by 5% to 10% depending on your driving style. Great news for motorcyclists who love racking up the miles on the road. |
MAINTENANCE | Fewer moving parts mean less maintenance compared to traditional internal combustion motorcycles. Our current oil change interval is every 10,000 km. Thanks to the new EMCE motor, it's no longer the case. You'll only need to change the transmission oil every 30,000 km and the powertrain cooling fluid every 45,000 km. Now, you can ride without thinking about maintenance, at least until you've reached 29,999 km. |
DRIVING MODES | Four driving modes: Eco, Standard, Wet, Sport Four levels of regenerative braking: Low, Medium, High, Off |
DASHBOARD | Cobo, 4.3-inch color TFT screen, WQYGA 480×272 – 16.7 million colors in an active matrix. 9 alarm indicator lights; 6 + 6 current consumption indicator lights; external brightness sensor; Real Time Clock. |
VEHICLE CONTROL UNIT | The vehicle is controlled by a Vehicle Control Unit that implements an adaptive energy and motor power multi-map management algorithm. It is also capable of constantly monitoring the battery's state, even with the vehicle turned off and the key removed. Implementation of a new mapping and parameterization dedicated to the RS version to emphasize the performance and excitement derived from Energica's experience in the racing world. |
TRACTION CONTROL | Six-level traction control that can be deactivated, complementing the existing engine brake anti-slip/anti-hop control (eABS) and Bosch ABS. |
CRUISE CONTROL | Sophisticated cruise control system that uses electric braking to maintain speed and increase energy during braking. |
PARK ASSISTANT | Forward and reverse (Low speed). |
MAXIMUM SPEED | Limited to 200 km/h |
